Water is essential to all living creatures
Water constitutes about 71% of earth´s surface. All this water is contained within oceans, rivers, lakes, and frozen water in glaciers. The most important thing about water is that it also constitutes within 65% to 75% of human body. This percentage varies based on factors like age, health, weight, and gender.
Water in human body performs a number of functions, as solvent for the transportation of nutrients, for excretion, for heat control of the body, as a lubricant for joints, and for shock absortion. When human brain is not provided with the enough amount of water, it does not function properly.
I have heard many times that the amount of water required daily for an adult is within 8 to 12 glasses. Here we have two formulas to calculate the amount of water we need daily: 0.5 ounces x body weight in pounds= Daily fluid requirements in ounces / 0.034 ounces x daily caloric intake = Daily fluid requirements in ounces.
