The security in the water system in the Dominican Republic has declined greatly, most systems do not have a good filter, so the toxic wastes can reach our water system. Several factors affect the quality of drinking water in the Dominican Republic, including: poor condition of purification systems, minimal operational controls, low levels of maintenance of treatment plants and mainly the intermittent systems.
Water scarcity is increasing, mainly because of excessive consumption in urban areas, the lack of demand management and degradation of watersheds. This last factor occurs mainly in the lower most coastal watershed sections, and is the result of informal settlements, and activities lack of sanitation.
Some people think that our water is not good, even for take a bath, It could be true, but We have to analyze the situation, a research confirmed That the 38.4% of water systems have no chlorination system installed.
A personal recommendation that I want to give is, that each and everyone of us, try to get a good filter of water and a bottle of chlorine and use it in our daily use of water, and of course be careful ,too much chlorine could be dangerous.
