According to the book , a cult , or charismatic group, is an exclusive group of people devoted to a person , principle, or ideal. The ideas of a cult and its leader are often based on a distortion of one area of human experience.
My personal opinion about that is that people need something or someone in what believe. I mean, I love go to the church on weekends, actually I am a musician there.
And I believe in God and my parents too, So, we believe in what the Bible said.
Other people believe in statues , and they pray to them, and it is something cultural too, whether they grow up with a family who trust in that kind of religion , well, the results are obvious, at least they get married with someone who family trust in a different spiritual idea...
In some countries the religion is a strong power, and deserve respect, like other authority, such as politicians, police officers, teachers, so on.
So go on with your life , without hurt the persons who are around, and enjoy the journey of life, Believe in what you want, but try to be compressible with your family and give time to them , to understand your points, and they could support you.
