The oldest old

In our talk over oldest old person in the classroom, student said that young don´t love the oldest persons in Dominican Republic, that Dominicans thing that old persons are a big problem; that they are like burden for them, but why we think of that form? I think that there are some consequence that cause this manner of see our predecessors, principally people who live in the capital: 1) we do not want to assume obligation. In our family each persons are busy, everyone have to do something when they have to take care for the grandparent, because we think that it is hard work for nothing. 2) The eagerness of every day less importance to oldest. The work and looking for the money don’t let young people dedicate time for the other persons, in specially the old, Dominicans people think that money is more important than persons and, as old persons cannot work and cannot look for the money we think that they do not have value. 3) The living apart. Nowadays the technology has displaced the need of communicate face to face, for that reason some persons want to live alone and   do not care live apart, and in that way they do not feel the love to the oldest.

All these effect that we sow before show us some example of why we do not love ours oldest, so we have to change the way of we think, because we will be old and we will be treated like we treat our parent.
