THE OLDEST OLD: A LOOK AT CENTENARIANS.


       A centenarian is a person who lives to or way beyond 100 years. The term is associated  with longevity. Investigations carried out in the United States have found that people are much more probable to be 100 years if their brother or sister has reached the age, that means that genetic factors play an important role in this phenomenon.

     Life expectancy is less than 100 years in the world. Healthy centenarians have high levels of vitamin A and vitamin E and this seems to be important in guaranteeing their extreme longevity.

      Some of the factors that contribute centenarians to reach this age are:

  1. A diet that is heavy grains, fish, lots of vegetables,especially garlic, and light on meat, eggs, and dairy products,
  2. Low-stress lifestyles,
  3. High levels of activity like walking, gardening , exercising, practicing yoga , etc., 
  4. To have a good sense of humor , happiness,
  5. Have a good breakfast,
  6. Get up early, and


     Don't eat a lot of salt and fat. These things are bad for you.
