Water
Nowdays it may sound strange to talk about "drinking water from the faucet" but around ten years ago, most people in DR used to drink water directly from the tap. I remember that only wealthy people used to drink bottled water. But currently that is no longer possible, nobody in healthy mental condition drinks that water. Why? The reason is clear, obvious, you can get easily sick with any bacteria.
Drinking Water
ReplyDeleteWater is the most wide spread source distributed on nature. The water used for human consumption is called potable water, which contains dissolved air and not prejudicial salts. However the water with excessive quantities of salt such as high chlorine, sodium sulfate, carbonate and calcium is known as heave water.
Heavy water can be permanent and temporal. Temporal water contains carbonates and bicarbonates. It can be eliminated by boiling. Permanent water is produced by sulfate and chlorine; it is eliminated through chemical methods.
Water contains a lot of pollutants depending on its origins. For example water taken from rivers contains bacteria and chemicals substances. It should be purified before human use.
Dominican water suppliers are not as good as they should be. We are supposed to have a better water system but we don’t have it. We have natural springs where water comes from but we do not get it. We have to buy bottle water or water purifiers to be able to obtain a good drinking water.
