How a Person Becomes Shy

How a Person Becomes Shy

For some people, shyness may be a genetic trait and for other people it might be a learned behavior. Since the late 1980s there has been some research that indicates genetic links for shyness in some people. Those different genetic links are currently being studied.

Other people might suffer from shyness because they feel awkward in certain situations. This may have developed because they were never taught how to act in those situations or because they suffered from harsh ridicule or an embarrassing incident in those types of situations in the past.

  1. The Bold and Bashful

To be bashful is synonim of being timid. Timid means to be reserved, to be introverted, not being able to feel comfortable in social situations and in a group of people who are not known very well.
Timid people do not develop themselves. They find it difficult to move into new situations and experiences. They have an actitude of fear, loneliness and low self-steem, they sometimes behave as if they were inferior than somebody else.
Being shy is disavantage in a society. It doesn't let a person to be positive, open and sociable. It's considered to be a problem that needs to be overcome.
