Feng Shui

What is Feng Shui?

Feng means Wind and Shui means Water. In the chinese culture Wind and Water are asociated with good health, thus good Feng Shui came to be good fortune, while bad Feng Shui means bad luck, o misfortune. Feng Shui is based on the Taoist vision and understanding of nature, particulary on the idea that the land is alive, and filled with Chi or energy.

The ancient chinese believed that the land's energy could either make or break the kingdom, so to speak. The theories Yin Yang and as well as the five elements, are some of the basic aspects as a Feng Shui analysis that come from Taoism.

How to get started with Feng Shui?

The main tools used in Feng Shui analysis are the compass and the Ga-Gua. The Ga-Gua is an octagonal grid containing the symbols of the I Ching, the ancient oracle on which Feng Shui is based. The Bagua of your home will help you understand the connection of specific Feng Shui areas of your home to specific areas of your life.

  1. this is a very good entry about what feng shui is; however I ask my self, does it really exists??. For me this is very deep and it goes beyond, it is not that simple. I believe that God is the ony one who knows what is going to happen in yor life eventhough you use tecniques such as this one to prevent futher damage or bad luck!
