CULTS

The word cult in current popular usage usually refers to a group whose beliefs or practices are considered abnormal or bizarre. The word originally denoted a system of ritual practices. The word was first used in the early 17th century denoting homage paid to a divinity and derived from the French culte or latin cultus, ‘worship’, from cult-, ‘inhabited, cultivated, worshipped,’ from the verb colere, 'care, cultivation'.
Cults are claimed to be deceitful. They are claimed to be harmful to their members. They are claimed to be undermining American values.

Nowadays, a plenty of false prophets are emerging. They claim that the world is coming to an end in a specific time which they supposedly know. They claim to be the way out to release those who follow them of the punishment that is coming. They claim to give peace and satisfaction to the thirsty souls that follow them blindly. Those false prophets are followed by weak people who fear the changes that the world brings on.

People join cults looking for solutions to problems they think are complicated and problematic. They believe that by the fact of being involved to a cult they’re going to find answers to their trials and relieve to their souls.
