Let's talk about "Shyness"

Ever since we were childrems, our parents have been telling us" Don't be shy " & now that we have grown up, we must wonder if  we really undertand what is being shy.

There are certain people who can't even imagine what it is like to be shy, because they dont have problems with showing their emotions and expressing themselves, but there are others who tend to be shy. These people want to talk and comunicate with others, but maybe they are afraid of making mistakes while talking or of getting close to others. Shyness can have differents causes: for example, not having the needed appreciation during the childhood, being bullied for being fat, ugly, slow, short or even tall... All those things can make them insecure of theirselves. Shyness is a tipical characteristic of people who have low self-esteem and for people who tend to have other anxieties as well.

I asked some peoplec how they would define shyness, and some of the answers wer:; "knowing in your head what you want to say or do, but your own mind is blocking your body to move blocking your mouth to talk.

To overcome shyness I recommend to go one step at a time, to slowly expand your own bounderies. The best way to do this, is to start stepping out of your comfort zone in a familiar situation, amongst people you trust. These people know you for who you are,and will not judge you or make fun of you. Another advice to overcome shyness is to copy people you admire, to copy their behaviour, because those people may have good virtues that  witch will motivate you to step out of your shyness. And last but not least, you might take into consideration to try a bit of alcohol if you are in social events. A little bit of alcohol is going to give you the extra push to start socializing, to speak your mind and to do what you want to do.
