SHYNESS ( also called diffidence ) is a social psychology term used to describe the feeling of apprehension, lack of comfort, or awkwardness experienced when a person is in proximity to, approached by other people, especially in new sitiations or with unfamiliar people. Shyness may come from genetics traits, the enviroment in which a person is raised and personal experienced.
BEHAVIOURAL AND PHYSIOLOGICAL SYMPTOMS.
_ Not speaking or saying very little. stuttering. very little or no eye contact. standing apart from others. speaking in a low voice. social phobia. embarassment. social anxiety disorder. depression. low self-esteem. blushing. muscle tension. sweaty hands. increase in heart rate. feeling sick, upset stomach or butterflies. shaking. dry mouth. sadness. negative thoughts and fear of being judged by others.
