Human beings have been ruling and controling Earth´s destiny during thousands of years. We commonly say expressions like ¨This is our country¨ or ¨This is our world¨. We really believe that this planet belongs to us by right. Most religions teach that God created The Earth and later created us to take control of it.
Until recently (less than 2 hundred years), men´s fight was not a problem to the planet. We used to kill each other in battles just for deciding who was suppose to be the future landlord of a territory. The planet did not have to worry because the waeapons we created were only harmful to ourselves. Our spread blood was to the planet like a spot easy to remove.
However, in our ¨modern world¨ we just not try to kill ourselves, but we pollute vast amount of territories in minutes, with a collateral effect of hundreds or even thousands of years to recover. Wars nowadays are so dangerous that although the territory in which they developed could be as small as few kilometers, the catastrophic results could involve hundreds of kilometers and take years of recovery.
Wars are not the only source of contamination. We make industries which wastes pollute the air and water. We throw garbage to the environment (cans, plastic wastes, etc,) that causes gret damage and takes a long time to recover.
As a result of this bad treament The Earth seems to be turning against us. But the true fact is that we have turn against it from a long time ago and unless we begin to value how special our planet is, the bigger our sorrows will be.
