MY OWN OPINION ABOUT THIS SUBJECT AND FENG-SHUI

I copy some information about feng-shui from internet but now i want to write my own opinion. Is my first time that i heard the word feng-shui, i never had read or heard about this interesting topic. Feng- shui is about organize our environment to have harmony, to have chee or energy in our life. Said expert by the text book that there are thing that block this energy. Some of them are: staircase near to the door, with this prediction especifically i have read some acnedotes that people say, if you past under staircase you will have bad luck. I am a little skeptical with this but we are in the world and each person life different. Returning with feng-shui there are other things that are allow and not allow such mirror, We can use mirror in our home but in the bed room is not allow. The most important thing that we need need have according this art is to have the enter room beautiful without object that the chee could circilate properly. With this part i agree totally because when we enter our home for example me, and find different things on table or on the sofa. Especially if we came from the university or my job. Is not good. For this reason and more after know about this topic jeje to have evething organized to feel better.

In other hand, i want to manifest my opinion about this class English 8, i am pleased to have taken this subject with this teacher Atilano Pimentel because i learned very much with all his corrections, teacher you did a good job. Although i have not had the best grade that i wanted but i  have new knowledge.

THANKS AND GOODBYE  TEACHER AND CLASSMATE.

The World of cults.

The dictionary says that the Word cult means:it is a fairly small religious group, specially one which is considered strange.
The reading says:it is an excluve group of People devoted to a person, principle, or ideal.
There are a lot of kinds of cults around the World, specially in the unites states. How it is a country of inmigrants, People have came with differents cultures and beliefs. I have listened bad news about these activities, the reading says the ideas of those cults and their leaders are often based on a distortion of one are of human experience.
Many of them attract to People with deceit, making to trust them the activities are sane and can be near to God, that is at the first, when they begin. That kinds of cults like to recruit wealthy People, we can notice the leaders of these group are very reach.
I have been Christian for twenty-two years, some People say I m of those cults, but it is not true, because I m only a follower of JesusChrist.I have felt manipulated, less I have been isolated from my family and friends, I m independent and free, There are complaints about it.
These cults are bizarre and dangerous, People should be careful with them, the society should refuse them too. The leaders take advantages of People'sweakness. Unfortunately these cults are on the rise all over the World.

LOST SOULSS
THE WORLD OF CULTS

Cult tends to follow false scriptures,or religion or religious sect generally considered extremist
with your followers, you can say a non-scientific method or regimen by its autor exclusive power, either in the cure of a disease.
It is the leader of a cult has the distintion of being charismatic and is considered very special for a few reasons:
The leader has received from  God a special relationship
He claims to be chosen  by to carry out a specila mission and calls for some skills.

I think you have to  believe in truth only one who is God and not be influenced by these types of negatives things that ultimately provides nothing good.

FENG SHUI'sPrinciples.

When the teacher talked about FENG Shui, it was the first time, I had listened that Word. Although I had read and listened about of the organitation of the objects, many famous People have their FENG Shui designer and People in this country organize their houses, because they have the belief that according how objects are or if they are very organize there are harmony and balance in their lives and houses.
How I told at the beginning of this comment, the Word FENG Shui was new for me, Idid not know it. Although the FENG Shui's theory comes from China over 3,000 years ago, it has became very popular in many countries around the World. According to the Reading the on FENG Shui máster is in great demand among China, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and the philipines. It is estimated that nearly 85 percent of Hong Kong residents apply FENG Shui principales When choosing an apartments,or business.
In the united states are published dozens of books of FENG Shui. The influence and popularity of it no doubt
the result of an increasing numberof Asian inmigrants as well as the result
of an ongoing fascination with ancient
Eastern practices.
I trust in the organization and th e position of the things. It is a good idea.

LOST SOULS THE WORLD OF CULTS

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A WIZARD TO KNOW WHAT THE UNIT IS ABOUT. I AM TALKING ABOUT THE WORLD OF CULTS, A WORLD THAT A GREAT DEAL OF US DO NOT KNOW AND MOST OF THE TIMES WE DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THEIR ACTIVITIES. BUT WHAT IS A CHARISMATIC GROUP REALLY? DOES THIS GROUP STRUGGLE FOR THE LIBERTY, OR FOR THE WELL-BEING OF THE SOCIETY? WHAT DO THESE SORTS OF RELIGIONS OR GROUPS REALLY DO?
THERE ARE MANY QUESTIONS TO DO BUT AT THE SAME TIME A LARGE AMOUNT OF THEM WILL NOT HAVE ANY RESPOND BECAUSE A BUNCH OF INFORMATIONS STAY HIDDEN WHEN THE AUTHORITIES FACE THEM OR THEY DECIDE TO COMMIT SUICIDE COLLECTIVELY .
WHAT ARE THERE REALLY BEHIND THESE CHARISMATIC GROUPS?
TILL I KNOW, THEY DO NOT CONTRIBUTE AT ALL TO THE SOCIETY BUT THEY PLOT AGAINST IT BECAUSE THEY MAKE A LOT OF ACTS OF TERRORISM SUCH AS TO PLACE BOMBS ON TRAINS OR SPRAY LETHAL BIOLOGICAL GAS ON PEOPLE. THESE KINDS OF ACTS ARE NOT GOOD TO GOD'S EYES. THEY SAY THEY WORSHIP GOD HOWEVER; THEY DO NOT DO WHAT HE SAYS IN HIS COMMANDMENT INSTEAD THEY FOLLOW AN IMPERFECT MAN WHO IS INSANE DUE TO HIS PERSECTION OF THE REALITY. BESIDES PEOPLE WHO FOLLOW LEADERS LIKE THOSE, ARE PEOPLE WHO ARE WEAK MENTALLY AND THEY NEED IN WHAT OR WHOM TO BELIEVE. MOST OF THE TIME THOSE PEOPLE DO NOT AWARE OF THE DAMAGE THE LEADER DOES THEM, THEIR BLINDNESS AND FANATICISM MAKE THEY'RE IGNORANT OF THEIR REAL SITUATION WHILE THEIR LEADER LEADS THEM TO A BLIND ALLEY WHICH ENDS IN THEIR PHYSICAL  STRIKE OUT.

tap water

I remember ten years  ago before George hurricane  in the dominican republic specially in mu city in san cristobal people drunk the water from the faucet but  after the hurricane they decided not to drink more because the water is contaminated , the authority found a lot of dead in the pond, even though, they found people that, many people in this moment are drinking the tap water without care the damage that somenthing like that can affect to them I think the authority has to work more becuase if the people continue drinking water from the faucet  the illness will continue.

The internet and other addiction

Every day we can see all over the world how the people become addicted in different ways such as cell phone, internet, drugs, sex and alcohol but in the case I want to talk about in a special one, called cell phone because in this moment the use of the cell phone is increasing every day, but the problem with it, is that some people have a huge addiction they think cannot live without cell phone, even though, cell phone is an important communication medium people have to know.

The difference between the correct use of this medium, and become in an addicted.
But the problem is that every day a new cell phone of model goes out to the market

And some people are very worry because they need to buy it and much of them, do not have money because they are very expensive for the new technology advanced but the real problem is that people are using this advanced for make dangerous videos about sex and others have a huge addiction with the use of Facebook and WhatsApp.

Interview with a specialist in the treatment of drinking and tap water

I interviewed my brother-in-law Juan Francisco Campusano. He´s a specialist in the treatment of drinking and tap water. He has 8 years of experiences. He offers his services to hotels, pharmaceutical laboratories, and laboratories of beauty products, beverage factories, and water processor companies.

I asked him about the water purification process and he explained to me that in the water purification process there are several steps:
1-    Eliminate bacterial pollutants by means of injection of chlorine to the water in the place of storage.
2-    Eliminate solid elements that are floating in the water (muddiness) through a filter of zeolita (it´s like sand) which has the capacity to eliminate even 10 microns.
3-    Eliminate chlorine, its odor and taste through an activated carbon filter.
4-    Eliminate calcium and magnesium of the water (hardness). Hardness is the one who causes calculus in the pipes.
5-    Eliminate minerals about 99.9% through an inverse osmosis system.
6-    Store and recirculate ozone to guarantee the conservation and preservation of water.
7-    Pump water towards different points or directions.
8-    Provide taste to the water through a taste filter that is compound by a carbon made of quicara of coconut or the coconut shell.
9-    Sterilize water through an ultraviolet light bulb.
10-                      Fill and stamp the big bottles.
In the first step the elimination of bacterial pollutants, water should last at least 6 hours in contact with chlorine to guarantee water free of impurities.
In the 2nd, 3rd and 4th step, the time will depend on the quantity of water that requires treatment.
The rules cover since 800 GPD (gallons per day) until 300,000 GPD, 600,000 GPD that is to say everything in 24 hours.

CULTS

A cult is defined as a system which venerates one particular individual, ideal or object. They can be a select group of fanatics, or a group of misguided outsiders whose ideals have segmented them from the norm. Many cults don’t begin as dangerous sects – and in fact, if asked, those involved with them wouldn’t describe their group as a cult at all. However, many cults have sinister or extreme agendas that are so far outside they norm they become dangerous. This manifests in mass-suicides, brainwashing, extremist behavior, attacks, abductions, extortion and vandalism.

Here are 10 of the most dangerous religious cults of all time.

10) Scientology

Scientologists are not your typical doomsday cult grabbing headlines with graphic or shocking religious doctrines and actions. Those who’ve escaped from this cult speak of brainwashing, fraud, and attempts at financial ruin. They talk of open threats and other dangerous methods which cult leaders use to ensure loyalty. The basis of the cult is a confusing mess of alien influence and the human psyche. But at the core, Scientology seems to be about a lot of money. They sue the pants off anyone who speaks ill of them. Famously there are several highly-paid actors who’ve become members, including Tom Cruise among others.

9) The Unification Church

They are called “Moonies” and they are the followers of Sun Myung Moon. They also believe Moon to be a divine being worthy of worship. Moon’s cult was so damning that Germany banned him from the country as it was deemed he was a danger to the people – especially easily influenced youth. Since the Unification Church believes Moon to be God, he is fully supported by his church in every sense of the word. The cult itself has been accused of luring young members into the fold and actively working to separate them from their families or support systems. Moon constantly speaks out against the Christian church, claims that Korea is the chosen realm, and openly expects to be treated as a deity by his followers.

8) The Ku Klux

The KKK is famous for their white robes, pointed hoods and their stance on white supremacy. Lost in this history is the fact that at its core the KKK is, or at least was, a religious sect of extremist Christians. Formed initially after the Civil War, the KKK once boasted nearly four million members. Their terror tactics and stance on blacks, Jews, Catholics and other minorities certainly didn’t win them any favors, but it was the fear tactics and murders which made them exceedingly dangerous. The anonymity of the clan was another contributing factor. Members could live in open society and participate robed and hidden if they desired. They clan lives on today, and while their influence has dwindled considerably they still remain a rather secretive and dangerous cult.

7) The Movement for the Restoration of the Ten Commandments of God

Based in Uganda, this cult believed that the end of the world was inevitable and would take place on January 1st, 2000. They strictly adhered to the Ten Commandments. In fact, they were so reverent to the word of God that they went to unusual lengths to not break it. They rarely spoke to one another and many even used sign language so that they wouldn’t bear false witness and break the ninth commandment. They refrained from sexual relations and fasted regularly. When January 1st, 2000 passed without incident the cult began to lose followers whose faith was suddenly shattered. As a result, the cult leaders predicted a new apocalypse in March that year. When 500 followers gathered at a church prior to the end times, it exploded. There were accusations of mass suicide, but most of the victims were strangled or poisoned and it was believed murder was the primary cause of death.
6) Aum Shinrikyo

This Japanese cult translates to the “Supreme Truth” and it was founded by Shoko Asahara in 1984. Under the cover of a yoga and meditation cult, this group was granted religious status and eventually became increasingly dangerous. In the decade that passed Asahara and his followers were accused of forced donations, fraud, and even murder. In 1995 the police began to take a serious look at Asahara and these accusations. So much so that Asahara ordered the release of sarin gas in the subway system hoping to distract the authorities. While the resulting fallout was devastating, the police did manage to capture Asahara and discovered a massive stockpile of weapons, explosives and even live captives. Among the materials the police discovered was enough poisonous gas to kill four million people, a Russian helicopter, drugs (including LSD), and chemical weapons like anthrax. Asahara was imprisoned and his cult disbanded, but some variation of his ideals lives on today in another cult, though the leader has distanced himself from this new sect.

5) Children of God

Few cults are as creepy as those that call themselves the Children of God which was founded by David Berg. The primary belief practiced by followers of this organization is that sex with children is not only ok, but a divine right. Needless to say, there was an extensive history of sexual abuse within this cult. Young women were turned towards prostitution and used to lure new members into the fold. There was an entire system in place for recruitment. Two rather famous actors grew up inside this cult, Rose McGowan and River Phoenix were raised in this “family,”

4) Order of the Solar Temple

This strange cult is based upon the ancient belief that the Knights Templar still exist and that salvation is only available to converted worshippers who would ascend into heaven. It was founded in 1984 by Joseph Di Mambro and Luc Jouret. The group’s activities are extremely secretive, but in 1994 cultists brutally murdered an infant because they believed it to be the anti-Christ. What followed was a series of mass suicides (including one in Switzerland, where inner-circle members were poisoned to death, and second one in Canada.) Cultists were shot, poisoned, burned, and suffocated. In the end over 100 people died, mostly by their own hand or at the hands of their leaders.

3) Branch Davidians

David Koresh convinced his followers that anyone not aligned with him, and particularly the United States, were enemies of God. This was the stereotypical apocalyptic doomsday cult built on a foundation of lies, terror and blind faith. Koresh himself claimed he was a voice of a God and even the Messiah and he used his power to regularly engage in sexual relations with his female followers. He moved his followers into a massive compound outside Waco, Texas. Eventually the authorities investigated the compound after accusations of sexual abuse and child molestation were leveled at Koresh and his cult. In a famous standoff in 1994 the ATF fired teargas into the compound. Fires erupted from the building, though no one was certain who started them or if they were a result of law enforcement. In the end 76 people died in the ensuing chaos.

2) The People’s Temple

This sect of religious fanatics was led by Jim Jones, a former Marxist and communist supporter turned Methodist priest. Jones was extremely popular and charismatic. He was also outspoken, particularly against the social elite. Poor and downtrodden members flocked to him in droves and he fully supported their plight. But what started innocently eventually morphed into a strange cult as Jones became more outspoken against the bible and more paranoid about a nuclear catastrophe. Jones was forced to flee the United States for Guyana where persistent sexual abuse was reported. Jones' congregation took matters into their own hands and assassinated a US Congressman. Eventually, on the orders of their leader, over 900 people committed the largest mass suicide in history by drinking poison-laced Kool Aid, thus coining the term “drinking the Kool Aid.”

1) Heaven’s Gate

Followers of this cult believe that enlightenment and salvation can only be achieved by fleeing Earth before the “great recycling.” Since leaving Earth is somewhat problematic, the leaders of this cult preached suicide as the answer to leaving your body and reaching enlightenment. Marshall Applewhite and Bonnie Nettles were the leaders behind this strange cult. They prepared videos on how to leave your earthly flesh behind and distributed them to members. Then, in 1997, Haley’s Comet arrived and Applewhite convinced his followers a spaceship was trailing the comet and those who followed him into death would be saved. Applewhite then ordered 38 people to commit suicide in San Diego when he claimed Haley’s Comet was the sign they’d been waiting for.

Feng shui

Feng shui is a chinese system of organizing the furniture and other things in a house or building in a way that people believe will bring good luck and happiness.

Some people believe that feng shui has physical and phychological comfort because the way people organize and build their houses and buildings they visualize the harmony and good luck. Many people believe that feng shui gives you happiness fortune and many positive things.

In the class, we listened that Donald Trump doesn´t make a move without feng shui. Feng shui is essential in the construction of his buildings. When he´s going to build a new project he seeks for the advice of a feng shui master. Feng shui is huge in Asia. Objects in the house have to be in harmony and balance. Mirrors are not wonderful in your bedroom because they reflect your bed.
.

feng shui. Does it really work?

Reading about feng shui in the book, something cached my attention and it is that the feng shui does not allow mirrors in the bedroom so it means that the 80% of dominican houses have been using mirrors the wrong way.

It is very interesting the way feng shui stablishes that the way you put things in your house will influence your life in a good or a bad way. I think is very interting to know a litlle bit more about this topic because maybe it works and could develop it in our own houses.

CULTS IN USA

The increasing number of cults in the United States just show that americans need something or someone to belive, and I think it is because they have a lot to think about. In schools, for example, children are in jeopardy because  suddenly there is a person shooting against others. What I don´t get is how or what could be so stronger that make people follow this tipe of organizations.

I know we think about changes and we want the best so maybe that is what people hear from the leaders of those cults. the main personalities of those cults just need help to do their dirty job. Some cults are like the mafia and thats why I think that is imperative to underestand the way it works just to be carefull. A lot of people could get hurt if we don´t stop that problem.

the UNITED STATES are the biggest influence, for latin american contries for example, where some people just take advantage of the ignorance in those contries. In the Dominican Republic  people have been trying to reproduce this behavior but we still don´t have that mentality.

Tap water in the Dominican Republic, a nightmare for peole.

Since I was a child I remember my father telling me not to drink the water from the faucet, but when we went to the montain we used to drink water from a hole in the ground, and I always kept thinking about which was more dangerous for my health. one day I went back from school and there wasn´t water in the refrigerator, so I decided to drink tap water, until that single moment I didn´t realize about how dangerous was to have a drink of water from the faucet.

There are some people who boile water twice to finally use it to cook, because they think it isn´t good for anything. Others buy potable water but also boile it for the same situation; not trusting in dominican water. What worsten this situation is that in this country water has become a business for some people who don´t care if you and me don´t have enough money to buy water because they know it is necesary for humas to drink water.

This country still has good water reserves but if we continue not using it properly soon we wont have this blessing. we most learn about the usage of water but our authorities also have to give a proper treatment to our water so maybe une day we will have the opportunity to drink tap water.

SHINESS IS NOT A PROBLEM TO STOP OUR LIFES

9 Famous People Who Proved You Don't Need To Be Loud To Make Real Noise

Posted: Updated:

Can the meek actually inherit the Earth?
Many of the world's most revered leaders have actually been far less outgoing than their public personas would lead us to believe. Through their successes, we learn that being shy absolutely doesn't mean being powerless. Sometimes you need to be quiet to make real noise, and always remember, actions speak louder than words.
Below are nine famous people that commonly strike us as outgoing, but who were actually far more quiet at heart.
1. Abraham Lincoln
1308080
Despite being the 16th President of the U.S. and a towering figure that presided over the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln was a great communicator who simultaneously didn't “offend by superiority," as Ralph Waldo Emerson put it. Despite his affinity for storytelling, a trait popularized by Daniel Day Lewis in the film, "Lincoln," the president was frequently described as a quiet man. Charles Francis Adams Jr., grandson of President John Quincy Adams, once wrote of Lincoln, "He seemed shy to a degree, and very awkward in manner; as if he felt out of place..."
2. Richard Branson
168211782
During Branson's younger years, the future billionaire and founder of Virgin Group was extremely shy and would cower behind his mother when encouraged to interact with adults. When Branson was about seven years old, his mother decided to try and remedy this, so she forced him out of her car three miles from their home and told him to find his way back by talking to people. The test ended up taking Branson around 10 hours, according to his mother, as he also spent some time inspecting rocks and insects.
Branson still considers himself a natural introvert and has said, "I had to train myself into becoming more of an extrovert."
3. Johnny Carson
187901873
Carson was known to be a bit anti-social, despite the "Tonight Show" host's public persona as a talented television entertainer. Friends such as actress Angie Dickinson recalled, “it’s amazing, with all of his success and [being] one of the most recognizable men in the world, he was very shy about it.”
In 1977, Johnny Carson agreed to sit down with "60 Minutes" correspondent Mike Wallace for a rare interview, in which Wallace was finally able to ask Carson about his notorious shyness and whether he felt it was accurate. Carson responded, "That's probably true."
4. Rosa Parks
116691979
Although known for actively standing up -- or perhaps remaining seated -- for equal rights in 1955, and subsequently becoming a key figure of the Civil Rights movement, Parks was not an outspoken woman. The title of her autobiography, "Quiet Strength," should be some indication of her personality and the obituaries written about her after her death mostly "recalled her as soft-spoken, sweet, and small in stature," according to author Susan Cain.
As Professor Mia Bay of Rutgers University aptly summarized, “Rosa Parks’ story tells us you don’t have to always have been a leader to do something important and to make an impact, and you don’t have to be a big a personality or a loud person to take a stand. You can be a quiet person of principles, and these quiet people who work behind the scenes are important to social change.”
5. Audrey Hepburn
78974985
"I'm an introvert ... I love being by myself, love being outdoors, love taking a long walk with my dogs and looking at the trees, flowers, the sky," Hepburn once said. The star of films like "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and "Roman Holiday" thought of herself as being on the shy side and appreciated the natural world, despite her Hollywood fame. In an obituary after her death in 1993, The Telegraph described her as, "sensitive, introverted and elusive, she evolved gently, almost imperceptibly, from a genuine ingenue into an adult one."
6. Will Ferrell
457792441
Then the polar opposite of the persona Ferrell is known for now, the actor and comedian used to be painfully shy and had to use fairly extreme methods to overcome this. "In college, I would push an overhead projector across campus with my pants just low enough to show my butt. Then my friend would incite the crowd to be like, 'Look at that idiot!' That's how I got over being shy."
Upon meeting him, The Huffington Post's Caroline Frost described him as having, "a soft, friendly face, impeccable manners but is softly-spoken, obviously shy."
7. Johnny Depp
108832768
Back in the 80s, Depp hated being a teen idol so intensely that he shaved his eyebrows just to make himself uglier and less photogenic for teen-adoring magazines (Fun fact: Years later, Depp would also get his head shaved by Hunter S. Thompson for his role in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas."). At the time, Depp was the star of "21 Jump Street" and just in the beginning stages of his career. Since then, he has made something of a reputation for himself by being shy. While an unscientific sampling, a simple Google search will show many a number of user-submitted questions inquiring why Johnny Depp is so "shy."
Depp has also been quoted as saying, “I'm shy, paranoid, whatever word you want to use. I hate fame. I've done everything I can to avoid it."
8. Lady GaGa
114566599
Especially with her "Little Monsters" campaign orchestrated by PR talent Troy Carter, Lady GaGa has walked the delicate balance of trying to maintain an "everywoman" image while also rising to "Artpop" levels, by wearing Alexander McQueen dressesand emerging from eggs. She has also managed to make a name for herself with vocal activism in favor of LGBT rights, while still being thought of as press-shy. While Lady GaGa embodies extravagance as a performer, moments such as her pre-fame appearance on MTV's "Boiling Points" show that the woman behind the name, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, is a pretty normal human.
Lady GaGa has also been quoted as saying, "I don't really meet that many other artists because I'm actually kinda shy. I might not be shy with people that I know but with people that I don't know I am very shy ... I always feel shy in the Hollywood scene. I feel a bit like I did in high school, like I don't really fit in."
9. Elton John
104502965
You might think of Sir Elton as a showy performer, but even friends like Rufus Wainwright have noted his shyness.
"I don’t think people are aware of how shy he is. He’s a bit like the Wizard of Oz. On the one hand there’s this big pomp and circumstance, but really beneath it all there’s this very sweet little guy who’s constantly feeling very insignificant, which is ironic of course. What I’m saying is, he’s quite shy,” said Wainright.
Even Elton John is quoted as saying, “I was quite an overweight young man and very shy ... That shyness carried along with me until the early nineties when I got sober."
The brilliant Elton John is shy? Who knew.
