The Oldest Old
Written by Elcilia Bierd
Many people think that the oldest old are those who had live a long live or have an average of living longer than the average according to the country's rate. People who have a lot of sickness in body and mind. People who have a ''live to behind''. People who live in elderly homes waiting the death, away of the family that they raised. people who don't understand technology and the different world that they have compared to theirs in the past. Old people who are an economic burden for their family.
It's true because old people are suffering the effects of many clinical situations, such as, arthritis, cancer, osteoporosis, Parkinson, Alzheimer, etc. that cost a lot of money and make them suffer.
It's true because they would never welcome the next day after going to bed or won't do that some of their contemporaneous.
It's true because the family that they have raised are far away, don't love them or are dead.
It's true but it isn't at the same time.
It isn't true because some of them have overcome many sickness and some of them are protected from many of them in some cases,
It isn't true because some of them have a independent live: They live in their proper houses but they prefer going to places where they can be attended for threatening some sickness without affect family's health.
It isn't true because in countries (like U.S.A) for working during many years, they receive a retirement pay. Payment based on the money they have saved when they were younger until their retirement. Something that I do now, when I'm young, for my future being a lovely granny. I hope so.
It isn't true because many of them accept that everybody is going to die one day. They live and enjoy what they have with the family and friends, not matter if they don't welcome the Sun when the dawn arrives the next morning.
In both cases, it depends on the way in what the elderly people accept the life and what comes with that. You are included because you are going to be old in some decades, and me too. So, you have to think about it.
