THE INTERNET AND OTHER ADDICTIONS
MY FIRST CLASS IN LEVEL EIGHTH WAS ABOUT AN INTERESTING TOPIC.
THE INTERNET AND OTHER ADDICTIONS, I HAD HEARD BEFORE ABOUT ADDICTIONS BUT ALL THE TIME WAS A TIPICAL ADDICTIONS TO SUBSTANCES LIKE: ALCOHOL, COFFE, DRUGS. ETC
BUT IN THIS CLASS WITH THIS TOPIC I LEARNED MORE ABOUT OTHER ADDICTIONS LIKE A GAMBLING, SEX, SHOPAHOLICS, WORKAHOLICS ETC.
BUT I THINK IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHAT IS AN ADDICTION:
Is Habitual psychological or physiologic dependence on a substance or practice that is beyond voluntary control.
THE PERSON WHO HAS AN ADDCTION LIKE A DRUGS, THINK THAT HE OR SHE CAN TO CONTROL IT BUT NOT ,THEY MUST TO VISIT A DOCTOR THAT CAN TO HELP. THIS PEOPLE WITH ADDICTION ALL THE TIME ARE THERE THINKING IN IT. FOR EXAMPLE IF IS ADDICT TO THE DRUGS AND THEY DONT WANT MONEY TO BUY IT GO AND STEAL WHATEVER HE SEE AND WHOEVER POSIBLE TO SATISFY IT.
OTHER ADDICTION THAT HAVE BEEN INCREASING IN THE LAST TIME IS THE INTERNET ADDICTION AND THINK THAT MUCH PERSON HAVE IT BECAUSE ALL THE TIME OR THE MAJORITY OF TIME ARE IN FACEBOOK. FOR EXAMPLE IF I BEGIN TO DO A HOMEWORK I CANT RESIST THE DESIRE FOR OPEN MY FACEBOOK AND SOME TIMES I FORGET THE CLASS AND PASS LONG TIME IN MY FACEBOOK.
FINALLY I THINK THAT ALL ADDICTIONS ARE BAD SO, BECUASE SOME PARENTS ACCORDING TO BOOK THINK THAT TO BE ADDICTION TO THE INTERNET IS LEES BAD THAN OTHER AND I THINK THAT ALL ADDICTIONS ARE SIMILAR SO BAD AND WE NEED TRY TO AVOID ALL.

ReplyDeleteWell, as all of you know, we have been studying the first unit from the book called North Star and we had our first discussion about the first lesson in class which was very interesting because was about a new kind of addiction that has been spread almost world wide rapidly without people aware of it.
The title of the first unit is "The internet and other addictions"
As soon as you read the first paragraph, one stayed surprised because you like me, and I know by sure, you didn't know that the internet could become for human beings in an addiction. Talking about internet addiction, I got a real report from China where a young guy cut himself his left hand because he couldn't fight against his compulsiveness surfing on the net. He wrote a letter to his mother which says "Mommy, I go to the hospital to cure my illness" this news was published on "El Dia daily" Thursday February 5th, 2015.
According to Kandell, a psychocologist who is a counselor at the University of Maryland. People become addicted to the net because it is free and most of the university projects and students' tasks are done using the internet. Others reason he marks is chat rooms, cyber space where people can interact without being mutually face to face.
But we have to be careful because something we got as a routing can become in an internet addiction according to the time we hold down on the net and without we aware of it we can hang up in an internet addiction. Kandell recommends not spend too much time surfing on the net and if we have been a lot of times on it, to take a walk, see the landscape or interact with other people to control our compulsiveness of being on the net.
