The introduction was written by me and I hope you find this work interesting and give your opinion about it.

Those who have been in contact with eastern cultures closely, have wide knowledge about Feng Shui. But what a about us, who live in the western end? For sure, most of us unknown this kind of art. But the question is, what is Feng Shui? And where did begin it? This is a simple question that can be difficult to answer. Feng Shui is an ancient art and science developed over 3,000 years ago in China. It is a complex body of knowledge that reveals how to balance the energies of any given space to assure health and good fortune for people inhabiting it.
Feng means wind and shui means water. In Chinese culture wind and water are associated with good health, thus good feng shui came to mean good fortune, while bad feng shui means bad luck, or misfortune. Feng shui is based on the Taoist vision and understanding of nature, particularly on the idea that the land is alive and filled with Chi, or energy.
The ancient Chinese believed that specific land's energy could either make or break the kingdom, so to speak. The theories of yin and yang, as well as the five feng shui elements, are some of the basic aspects of a feng shui analysis that come from Taoism.
The Yin Yang theory is one of the main theories of all ancient Chinese schools of thought. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), ancient martial arts, feng shui, the I Chin, and the whole Taoism cosmology are all based on the dynamics of Yin and Yang.
According to this theory, everything in our Universe is composed of two opposing, but deeply interconnected forces - the Yin (feminine) and the Yang (masculine).

The interaction of these two feng shui forces creates the essence of life around us. One cannot exist without the other, as in their seeming opposition, they deeply support and nourish each other.

The best representation of the harmonious interaction of the Yin and Yang forces is the Tai Chi symbol.

Expressed in feng shui colors, the Yin, feminine energy is black and the Yang, masculine energy is white

Energy-wise, Yin is soft, slow, relaxed, diffused, moist, passive and silent. Think of the rhythms and essence of feminine energy - the softness of water, the mystery of the Moon, the blackness of rich soil and the deep silence of the night.

The Yang force is expressed by a contrasting, opposite to Yin quality of energy. Think of the fiery directness of the Sun, the aggressive speed of racing cars, the rock solid surface of a mountain, the focused energy of a laser beam.

Yang is the fiery essence of the mid-day sun and Yin is the stillness and mystery of the night.

Because your home needs a balanced feng shui energy in order to support your well-being, it is important to understand the application of the Yin Yang theory on a practical, simple level.
  • YIN (passive energy) is the feng shui energy of relaxation that you need in your bedroom or in your feng shui spa bathroom. Yin is in the calm colors around you, the soft music, the sound of a water fountain and the soothing, relaxing art images.

  • YANG (active energy) is the feng shui energy characterized by strong, vibrant sounds and colors, bright lights, upward moving energy, etc. You want Yang energy in your home office, your kitchen and at a good dinner party with friends.
The Yin Yang energies cannot exist in isolation; they define each other, as one is the condition for the other's existence. Thus, a good feng shui home has to have a harmonious rhythm of both active and passive energies.

In the Western culture we tend to experience an imbalance of feng shui energies. We live in a constant flow of the very active, busy, Yang feng shui energy and often weak, or even missing Yin energy (the relaxed and nourishing one).

Creating a home that will reflect the feng shui Yin Yang balance is very important. There will always be one quality of energy that is stronger depending on the use of the space, but you need to represent both feng shui energies.

Here are examples of the play of Yin and Yang energies in a good feng shui home:
  • Yin Energy in Your Home. Your bedroom needs the relaxing Yin energy in order to heal you, so it is crucial to let go of all the dominant Yang feng shui elements in the bedroom, such as the TV, exercise equipment, or office items.

While the Yin energy needs to be the predominant energy in your bedroom (think relaxation, cocooning, sensuality, sleep); you also need a slight presence of Yang (think red
candles, arousing images, a light accent color to balance the deep colors, etc.) The same principle applies to your bathroom.

  • Yang Energy in Your Home. On the other hand, your family room, your living room, your home office, and your kitchen are definitely feng shui spaces that will benefit from a strong presence of Yang energy. Choose vibrant colors, lively music, and a variety of feng shui decor items to create an active quality of energy (family photos, books, games, etc.)

Even though the Yin, or relaxing element, is not the dominant element here, you still need to have it for balance. Introduce deep
colors, relaxed and comfortable seating, as well as some images with soothing Yin energy.
Having a harmonious balance of both Yin and Yang feng shui forces in your home will create the quality of energy you need in order to live a healthy and fulfilling life.
What is Taoism and what does it have to do with good feng shui? Let's look into the connection between these two philosophical schools of thought.

Taoism and feng shui share the same roots, as both disciplines evolved from the ancient wisdom of understanding the inter-connectedness of everything around us; the one Universal energy (Chi) as expressed in many forms.
That which cannot be named is the true study of Taoism, so no matter what words, terms or explanations we might use to define the Tao, we will still be far from its true essence.

The true Tao cannot be explained in words; in can only be felt (and understood) at a level much deeper than words.

Taoism is the wisdom of listening to the voice of nature, as well as the wisdom of knowing that humans can genuinely thrive only when aligned and in harmony with the rhythms of the Universe.

The founder of Taoism is considered to be Lao Tzu, a mystic sage who lived in the 6th century BC. He is the author of the Tao Te Ching, a widely known Taoist classic.

Tao (Dao) means the Way, or the Path.

"The way to what?", you might ask. Good question.

Taoism is about a way to experience your life in an effortless way; a way where you are active when the energy is flowing and slow down when the energy is slowing down. You wait when the energy is blocked and you make a major leap forward when the energy is moving forward.

You trust in the deep, mysterious wisdom of the Universe and allow it to carry you to your goal; you achieve what needs to be achieved without unnecessary strain. You get the support of powerful energies at the right time, and rest when the energy is not there for you. It is a way to accomplish everything that needs to be accomplished in an easy and effortless way.

Many celebriries from movies and business world, donnot make move without consulting an expert in Feng Shui. For instance, Donald Trump, a magnate in Real Estates doesnot make a move without listing fisrt the wise advices from an expert in Feng Shui.

Feng Shui helps us according to the people who follow this philosophical current, to arrange our lives, home, office, and becomes us in positive people to be successful and achive our goals.
