Old People

Old people sometimes are treated as if they were not persons who feel and who have the right of having the attention of those around them. They are discriminated for different things such as: they don´t look as they used to , they see the world in a different way which sometimes is not well seen by young people who very often consider that very annoying to be warn, also because they can´t have a job and can´t earn money to spoon feed themselves. I think old people shouldn´t be discriminated there isn´t any kind of justification for doing that, old people should be loved and admired not just because they are old but also because once they give everything they could to others.

ADDICTIONS!

Good night Professor and Classmates.

First, I consider that someone is addicted to something or someone, when she or he begins to depend on it. For instance, we can notice that nowadays are many young people dying, but I'm not talking about whoever on the street, I'm referring to recognized singers, actors, and so on. An illustration of it is the recent death of Whitney Houston, she was overdose.

There are many youngster depending on drugs and alcohol, but let me tell you that these are the most famous addictions from the past, for now we have several, and they maybe don't have the same outcome on human beings, but at the end they are as harmful as them.

Actually we have the BB's, it is incredible that today people meet, and they usually talk by BB, even though they don't share with others, they drive using their phones, which it's a danger.

Finally, there are also shopaholics, workaholics, people who love gambling, drink coffee, smoke and traveling.

OLDEST OLD

In the Dominican Republic for the elderly should be given better care, I have seen many old people in the streets who are not protected by the government and related institutions.

The elderly in our country especially in the poorer classes, are a great misfortune because relatives are unable to meet the needs imnumerables mainly those relating to health care and medicine.

A great achievement of the authorities was that those people who are practically destitute will be provided with at least health care, medication and possibly a place where they have accommodation after confirming that their families are able to address them.

These problems can not be controled, not only in terms of drugs also smoking, coffee, among other things, often have to visit support group for help.

Julio Tejera Said:

Addictions are harmful physically and spiritually because they make man subordinate to it especially spiritually.

Wandry Mendez said:

Addictions are imbalances that occur in humans which affect both rich and poor, have no limits and therefore can say that they are evils that are affecting people.

One day the teacher talked about Dr Drew. I got interested on him because he is a very good doctor and I´ve seen some of his tv programs, they are really interesting. I found this interview where Dr Drew give a lot of information about addictions. I hope you like it.

Addictions

An addiction can be defined as a physical or psychological dependence about something. When people get involved in any addiction he/she forgets that the world around them exist. they don´t care about others nor themselves. Many people tend to think that when we talk about addictions we are talking about drugs, alcohol,or sex ,but unfortunately this is not like that, we can get addicted to whatever thing around us such as food, tv,cellphones, shoes, etc. I think is ok if you are interested in somethig but having a limit because an addiction is a very serious problem, and it is so hard to leave an addiction specially if you don´t get professional help.There are many people who have died because of an addiction, they are´nt strong enough to notice that their addiction is killing them.
